What are some old finishing moves in wrestling that you wish would make a comeback?
Finishers or even set up moves that you dont really see anymore in todays wrestling.
Two things I never see anymore are: The Heart Punch, and also raking someones face across the top rope, usually done by heels.
What are some you no longer really see that should be used more often?
The Figure Four Leglock. Like when Ric Flair would spend the entire match focusing on his opponent's leg, trying to weaken it for that hold. Flair would try a few times but his opponent would manage to avoid it, until finally Flair would put the hold on. That moment always got a huge reaction. Then the real story would be told. Is the other guy beat down enough where he has to submit, or can he gut it out and reverse it or make it to the ropes for the break? Will he submit, or pass out from the pain? It's a great old-school finisher and we don't see it much any more.
The Frankensteiner. We see huracaranas all the time but they're just transitional moves generally performed by the cruiserweights and the women and are not used as finishers. I'm talking about Scott Steiner's Frankensteiner from the early 90's where he spiked his opponent's head into the mat to get the pin.
The Chokeslam. Remember when Kane and The Undertaker used to win matches with that move? Big Show, too.
The roll-up into a back bridge, trapping the guy underneath where he couldn't kick out or wiggle out.
The Thesz Press. Done correctly (wrapping your legs around your opponent's legs and pushing his shoulders down) it's a finisher. Knocking your opponent down stuns him and tying his legs up with your's takes away any leverage he might have, and he can't avoid the pin.
The Torture Rack submission. Made famous by Lex Luger.
